Dfinity Supernova is the first global hackathon based on the IC (The Internet Computer) blockchain, with a total prize pool of more than $765,000.

In order to better promote the development of the Web3 ecosystem and help more Web3 start-up teams better implement their ideas into reality, Foresight Ventures participated in sponsoring the one and a half month DFINITY Supernova Hackathon.

The event officially kicked off on May 10, and the call for projects will continue until June 20. On June 30th, the project roadshow and award ceremony of this hackathon will be held. The winning projects in the hackathon will share a cash prize of US$765,000, and are expected to receive an additional US$765,000 in Grant funding, as well as a seed fund of up to US$4.47 million provided by the Dfinity Foundation.

The event has set up six independent tracks, covering SocialFi, GameFi, Metaverse & NFTs, Asynchronous DeFi, Public Good/Social Impact, and those that cannot be accurately classified for the time being. After the Supernova Hackathon official team completes the qualification review of the registered projects, the approved projects will be handed over to the jury for review based on multiple criteria such as project influence and potential, technical capabilities, social impact, development prospects, and IC ecological fit.
