Around June 23, 2011, the following dialogue appeared in the IRC channel of the "Mt.Gox" exchange:
MagicalTux: If you can send a small amount (bitcoin) to another address, it will restore public confidence.
I have sorted 432109.87654321 bitcoins, but I want to create a new transaction again.
Do you want to send 424242.42424242 (BTC)?
Just let everyone see the transfer of a huge bitcoin transaction.
Connecting to offline storage on the firewalled system as well as decrypting; I'm going to do this transaction manually.
go1dfish: I will initiate a transaction worth 442,000 BTC from some addresses that accumulatively hold 500,000 bitcoins. To be precise, it should be two transactions, one involving 424242.42424242 BTC, and the other sending the remaining bitcoins.
Are you ready friends? I hope that after this incident, I will be able to work without being interrupted.
