Understand developers and realize their demands.

On September 5th, the POD Conference hosted by Odaily and strategically co-organized by 36Kr Group was held in Beijing. Wang Liang, the founder of bCamp, gave a keynote speech on "Ecology, Make Us Better" at the conference. Wang Liang believes that in order to make blockchain projects better, we must deeply understand the demands of developers.

The key indicators of a blockchain project include multiple elements such as team, technical strength, application scenarios, community, economic model, code quality, etc., and developers are a particularly important part of it.

In his speech, Wang Liang used a survey result as an example: in a non-discriminatory developer community of 5 million people that bCamp can currently influence, developers who feel the charm of blockchain and start to pay attention to blockchain technology No more than 1%. Wang Liang believes that there are four demands of developers - voice, evangelism, team, and ecology, and the developer community can help developers meet the above demands.

He believes that the community can help developers speak out and transmit their own value to the outside world; it can help developers preach and make more people recognize their technology; the community can also help developers build teams and build their own ecology. At the same time, the community will be able to better realize the flow of information flow, talent flow, and value flow, and help more developers return their collective value to more valuable application scenarios.

Hello everyone! It's a great honor to be the finale at this time, to see everyone's backs, and I would like to thank all the friends who are still here for seeing my face and seeing everyone's faces.

Today my topic is "Ecology Makes Us Better". You have introduced a lot of background and personal background. In fact, what I want to say is that I am the father of two children, a daughter and a son. I saw my When the lover takes them, it is very hard, because the elder sister and the younger brother are playing separately and need to be taken care of at the same time. But I found that when my daughter and son play together, the natural fusion relationship between sister and brother is a small ecology. The sister plays a leading role and takes the younger brother to experience the fun of her game. The younger brother felt that someone was leading him, and he felt that someone was accompanying him deeply. So I wondered what ecology can bring us? Why is ecology so important in the blockchain world?

I use two pictures to let everyone feel the feeling of ecology.

I think everyone can feel the difference between the two. On the left and on the right, I believe everyone has done a good enough job. We have shown a stronger charm in the competition. This (right) is the ecology we want.

As for our bCamp, we used to have a developer community of 5 million people. We conducted a sample survey and found that among the 5 million people, the number of developers who feel the charm of the blockchain is actually only 1%. I think this number is actually somewhat exaggerated, because maybe only interested people will fill out this sample questionnaire.

So I think it's scary. We saw such a beautiful conference today, but you will find that it is just a carnival of a small group of people. Of course, the boss has said "the future has come", and we believe this.

So we have to feel what these developers need? Can we give these developers more warmth and let them join the big ecology of blockchain development?

Let me say the first sentence here, the blockchain ecology cannot do without developers, so the theme of today's conference is enough to illustrate this point. So in our ecology, we have given enough respect to developers. This kind of respect comes from the heart. We see that these developers are sometimes aloof, sometimes lonely, and sometimes they hope that someone will understand him, and they also hope that their shortcomings can be filled by others. But at present, due to the relatively closed circle of developers themselves, in many cases, they lack help.

A few days ago I asked a brother, what do you need there? He said that I need everything except technology, so I think that should be the value of ecology.

I have limited time today, so I only order one or two. Here we give you a picture, which many people may know, Gartner's emerging technology maturity curve.

In 2016, the blockchain was a point that was about to climb to the peak. At that time, the blockchain industry was bright. When we entered 2017, at this time, we saw that the blockchain seemed to be no longer the favorite of ours last year, and it was already in a downward position. We thought we could see it fall to the bottom quickly, and then accelerate again. As a result, we arrived in 2018, and when we saw this picture again, our hearts were cold again, because we found that the blockchain in 2017 and 2018 had hardly changed much in that declining position.

what does it mean It means that autumn has just entered, and it is still far away from winter, let alone deep winter. So we hope to give developers more warmth and help them survive such a severe winter. We hope that the world of blockchain is the future of our consensus. So we hope that this community can give developers and give them more help.

In terms of key indicators of blockchain projects, we have listed many elements including team, consensus, technical strength, application scenarios, community, economic model, code quality, etc. The day before yesterday, one of my juniors talked about that, in terms of security, there are many problems in the code of one of the top five popular public chains. He even felt that there was no cure. My heart skipped a beat. There are still so many problems with this chain that has already obtained global consensus. What about the others? I only listed 7 or 8 points here, and there may be more points, so how can blockchain projects become better? I think we need to deeply understand the demands of developers.

I use four pictures to describe the demands of developers:

The first point is to speak up. We found that many developers are bored, and they only speak up when they have to present themselves. So we have to tell developers to be brave enough to speak up and express their own value.

The second point, sermons. Good technology requires more people to agree, and more people agree to preach, so who will do it? We find that power is so poor when preaching is just a hobby in itself. Our community wants to help these people evangelize.

The third point is the team. We strongly feel the value of the team itself, and everyone may feel it. A good man helps each other, a good project, without a good team, it may be difficult for you to become bigger and stronger. So our community helps them better discover and build teams.

The fourth point is ecology. We hope that in every technical project, we can help him grow his own ecology. Therefore, understanding and helping developers to realize their demands is the greatest value of our community.

Finally, let's talk about who we are. We used eight words to present our value, which is called "convergence of rain into rivers, fusion of rivers into the sea." We feel that we are a very simple group of people, and what we have to do is to help these developers and make them better , Let them integrate more power he needs in this platform, for example, who will tell him how the brand should do? Who told him what the media should do? Who told him how the team designed it? Who told him how to design shares? Our community has everything he lacks. We will help him firmly believe that the future of blockchain exists, and help them survive this possibly cold winter.

Let me give you a small example here. This is a project we are incubating. Just now, many guests said a lot of points. I think one point lies in the word "integration". We found that "integration" can generate a lot of value. In this project, we integrated mobile Internet, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, big data and other technologies, and we also helped the team discover that the integration of blockchain into this project will bring about a qualitative change in this project.

I use three flows: information flow, talent flow, and value flow. In this project, through the flow of these three streams, we found that such an idea that was only in the minds of some people can be realized through our community. And we will also use the power of the community to help more developers push their code value to more valuable application scenarios, and at the same time effectively give back the future value-added benefits to developers.

bCamp is an open community. We welcome all friends who are concerned about blockchain developers to join us. We still lack a lot of strength, including capital, media, lawyers, consultants, and traditional entrepreneurs. We also hope you find the shortcoming you need to remedy here.

The vision of bCamp is to build the most influential blockchain developer community in China. We don’t say we are the biggest, nor how powerful we are. We just want to help those developers in a down-to-earth manner; Globally, looking at the whole universe, we think that there are actually many things we need to do in China, and many people need our help.

Finally, this is our LOGO—bCamp. On the one hand, it can be seen as a circle that unites all forces, and on the other hand, we can also see the acceleration of the circle to the particles in the circle. I hope everyone can pay more attention to blockchain developers. Support the growth of bCamp, and hope that everyone will jointly build the bCamp blockchain technology ecosystem and share the value of the blockchain era.

Thank you for your company at the end, thank you!
