After a successful double audit and a transaction volume worth $1 billion, all of the core Vortex pool code is now open source.

The whirlpool has been spinning steadily since it opened in our ecosystem in March. These centralized liquidity pools provide better prices for traders and higher capital efficiency for liquidity providers. These centralized liquidity pools have brought Orca more than $1 billion in trading volume! 🐋
Whirlpool is an open source Centralized Liquidity Automated Market Maker (CLAMM) project built for the Solana ecosystem. The smart contract is specially designed for the Solana virtual machine, emphasizing security and efficiency.
Our talented engineering team has been working hard to create the most efficient and elegant solution to provide centralized liquidity pools on Orca. Now is the time to share Whirlpools with the entire Solana ecosystem and help other protocols leverage the efficiencies of centralized liquidity. ☀️

We are excited to announce that all of the core Whirlpool code is now open source!

Neodyme and Kudelski Security have conducted a double audit of the whirlpool, the audit report can be found in our newOrca Developer Portalgovernance proposalgovernance proposalPassed to support a bug bounty program to really kick off a more thorough testing of the smart contract. This bug bounty program was launched on Wednesday withImmuneFisecondary title

Ready to build? Blueprints are here

Here is everything you need to get started:

Vortex pools are Orca's core product and in many ways Solana's first centralized liquidity product - one of the most popular improvements is first-class support for liquidity mining, including automatic cumulative rewards (no need to hold LP tokens!) We will also focus on developer education, including simple documentation and tutorials to help builders integrate or use Whirlpool.

Here are some ideas to look forward to. Meanwhile devs: tell us what you want to see!

  • How to debug errors or vulnerabilities in the Vortex smart contract

  • How to use Orca's Typescript SDK to implement a Swap or create a position

  • How to use Rust CPI to do a Swap or create a position

We will also be releasing a number of technical changes in the coming weeks to further improve the usability of the whirlpool SDK, including…

  • APR calculations

  • Additional reference types and tests on the Swap instruction to simplify the developer experience

  • Improved tick-array handling for referenced Swap instructions

  • Calculation of Liquidity Distribution

Several ecosystem projects have chosen to leverage Orca’s infrastructure, including Parcl (for centralized liquidity) and Jupiter (for Swap). If you're a builder and would like to get in touch with the Orca team, drop into #integrate-with-orca on our Discord!

Finally, if you're a participant in the upcoming Solana Hackathon, stay tuned for the Whirlpool Builder Program! 👀
