Trump team includes Bowman, Jefferson and Logan in its list of candidates for Federal Reserve chairman

Odaily Planet Daily reported that according to two U.S. government officials, two Federal Reserve vice chairmen, Bowman and Jefferson, and Dallas Fed President Logan are considering taking up the position of Federal Reserve Chairman when the position becomes vacant next year. Treasury Secretary Bessant, who is in charge of the selection, said he will interview more candidates in the coming weeks. Officials said Trump is expected to make a final announcement this fall. People familiar with the matter said that other candidates still under consideration include Trump economic adviser Kevin Hassett, Federal Reserve Board member Waller, economist Mark Summerlin, and former Federal Reserve officials Kevin Warsh and James Bullard. The United States will continue to modify the implementation of the additional ad valorem tariffs on Chinese goods (including goods from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Macao Special Administrative Region) as stipulated in Executive Order No. 14257 of April 2, 2025, and will suspend the 24% tariff for 90 days starting on August 12, 2025, while retaining the remaining 10% tariff on these goods as stipulated in the Executive Order. 2. China will continue to (i) modify the implementation of the additional ad valorem tariffs on U.S. goods as stipulated in Tax Commission Announcement No. 4 of 2025, and will suspend the 24% tariff for 90 days starting on August 12, 2025, while retaining the remaining 10% tariff on these goods; and (ii) take or maintain necessary measures to suspend or cancel non-tariff countermeasures against the United States in accordance with the Geneva Joint Declaration.
