Trollface creator denies involvement in Solana's on-chain meme coin, saying he doesn't want to be responsible for someone else's bankruptcy
2 hours ago

According to Odaily Planet Daily, Carlos Ramirez, the creator of the classic internet meme "Trollface," has stated that he has no interest in participating in a meme coin project based on the character and issued on the Solana blockchain, believing that the capitalist nature of the crypto industry interferes with artistic expression. However, he also clarified that he will not take legal action against the token. Despite this, he previously promoted a separate troll token, both earlier this year and on Tuesday.

Ramirez said he often receives invitations to give away tokens from Trollface-related meme projects, but he said: "If I can't sell them, these tokens are meaningless to me; but if I sell them, it will crash the market. And frankly, I don't want to be responsible for other people's financial bankruptcy."

Over the past two weeks, the price of Troll coin has risen by more than 1,050%, and its market capitalization has soared from $16.12 million to over $184 million. It has become the 32nd largest meme coin in the world according to Coingecko, surpassing Moo Deng, Aura, and Melania. (Decrypt)
