Sui Devnet Completes Native Quantum-Resistant Signature Transaction Test, Aims for Mainnet Account Authentication in Q1 2027
Odaily News: Kostas Chalkias, Chief Cryptographer at Mysten Labs, the core development company behind Sui, announced that the Sui Devnet has completed testing of native quantum-resistant signature transactions. The latest version now supports ML-DSA-65 post-quantum signature verification, which will be used for transaction authorization of regular accounts in the future. Additionally, there are plans to introduce SLH-DSA-SHA2-128s signatures through Move smart contracts to provide protection for high-value asset vaults.Existing accounts will be able to derive quantum-resistant keys from their original mnemonics and update authorization keys through the address alias feature without needing to transfer assets. Sui plans to deploy quantum-resistant vaults to mainnet by the end of 2026 and introduce native ML-DSA-65 accounts to testnet, with the goal of achieving native account authentication on mainnet in Q1 2027. The specific timeline depends on security audits and testing results.
Yuga Labs Blockchain VP: Recommends Users Immediately Revoke Blur Contract Approvals
Odaily News: Quit, Yuga Labs' Vice President of Blockchain, posted on X platform that as Blur announces it will discontinue its frontend on November 12, users are advised to immediately revoke NFT approvals to Blur smart contracts.Quit stated that their investigation has not yet found any exploitable vulnerabilities in Blur's existing contracts, but the contracts are upgradeable and carry the risk of malicious modification in the future. Currently, NFTs worth at least $10 million remain approved to Blur contracts, and their security depends on the Blur team's operational security capabilities. Quit recommends users revoke relevant approvals through tools such as revoke.cash to guard against potential contract attacks or malicious upgrade risks.
EU MiCA Review Involves Mandatory Certification Requirements for Non-Custodial Bitcoin Wallets
According to Odaily, Bitcoin News posted on X that the EU is reviewing MiCA, and the related consultation involves requiring developers of non-custodial Bitcoin wallets to obtain certification before offering software to the public. The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) stated that open-source development, self-custody, automated smart contracts, and permissionless infrastructure should not automatically be regarded as regulated intermediaries, while also proposing a new regulated service for crypto asset service providers that offer clients access to decentralized protocols. This review has not yet changed the current rules. The European Commission will evaluate the relevant feedback and, in accordance with Article 140 of MiCA, submit a review report by June 30, 2027.
Ethereum's Glamsterdam upgrade has been activated on the Sepolia testnet, with the Gas limit raised to 200 million
Odaily News: Ethereum's next-phase upgrade, Glamsterdam, was successfully activated on the Sepolia testnet on October 6, with no critical failures during the upgrade process. The upgrade includes 18 EIPs aimed at supporting a block Gas limit of approximately 200 million, roughly 3.3 times the current mainnet limit of 60 million Gas.Key improvements include the introduction of an in-protocol proposer-builder separation mechanism, support for parallel client validation, and an increase in the smart contract code size limit. The block Gas limit on the Sepolia testnet reached 200 million approximately 11 hours after the upgrade.Ethereum Foundation researcher Toni Wahrstätter stated that client execution efficiency improved after the upgrade, with Geth's processing time for a 40 million Gas block reduced from approximately 115 milliseconds to 30 milliseconds.Glamsterdam is expected to be deployed on the Hoodi testnet on October 27, with the mainnet upgrade targeted for Q4 2026.
Execution engine runs smart contracts up to 55x faster, Aptos launches MonoMove
Odaily reports that Aptos Labs has announced the launch of MonoMove, the largest proposed upgrade in the history of the Aptos blockchain execution engine. Aptos Labs stated that internal testing shows MonoMove can run smart contracts up to 55 times faster than the existing system; on its incubated fully on-chain trading platform Decibel, collateral withdrawal speeds increased by up to 55 times, and order placement speeds increased by up to 22 times.
No need to write custom smart contracts: Arc open-sources USDC lending example app
Odaily: Arc, the L1 network under Circle, has open-sourced a USDC lending example application built on Borrow Kit. The example covers market discovery, loan sizing, depositing cirBTC as collateral, borrowing USDC, health monitoring, repayment, and liquidation. According to the official announcement, developers do not need to write custom smart contracts or maintain direct integrations with lending protocols.
Simplify Position and Collateral Architecture, Polymarket Launches Prediction Market Protocol V2
Odaily reports that Rajath Alex posted on X stating that Polymarket has launched its next-generation prediction market smart contract system, Protocol V2. V2 adopts a single ERC1155 position contract, unified pUSD collateral, a single exchange, and a single router. It initially supports binary, atomic negative risk, incremental negative risk, and combinatorial markets, with settlement compatible with UMA and Chainlink oracles. The code has been audited by Cantina, Certora, and other firms, with Certora completing formal verification, and bug bounties reaching up to $5 million. Canary trial markets launched from October 5 to October 30, with brand-new markets expected to go live on V2 on November 2. Existing CTF markets and positions remain unchanged, and Data API V2 is launching simultaneously.
NEAR Intents Hit by $3.8 Million Exploit, Gives Hacker 48 Hours to Return Funds
Odaily News: NEAR Intents has stated that it has identified the attacker responsible for the loss of user funds and has demanded the return of $3.8 million within 48 hours through a "responsible disclosure" mechanism, after which the window will be closed.NEAR Intents suspended services on Thursday after discovering a vulnerability in the interaction between the Omni deposit and withdrawal infrastructure and its smart contracts. A preliminary investigation showed that the attack resulted in the theft of $3.8 million in user funds, and the platform has committed to fully compensating affected users.On-chain investigator ZachXBT disclosed that the related funds were transferred to the KuCoin exchange and subsequently bridged to Bitcoin. Back online: NEAR Intents and near.com vulnerability impact limited to USDT on BSC
Odaily reports that according to monitoring by Illia Polosukhin, NEAR Intents and near.com have been restored online, though a small number of affected networks remain restricted. The approximately $3.8 million attack exploited a vulnerability in the interaction between the Omni deposit and withdrawal infrastructure and the NEAR Intents smart contract, with the impact limited to USDT on BSC. The NEAR core protocol, NEAR token, and other applications were unaffected, and affected users will receive full compensation.
