Solana's x402 Launches USDC Batch Payments, BlockRunAI Says It Can Save Over $20,000 Per Month
Odaily Report: Blockchain platform Solana has launched x402 batch payment functionality through PayAI Network and BlockRunAI, enabling AI agents to initiate multiple USDC payments and settle them all through a single on-chain transaction.BlockRunAI has already applied this technology to its AI model routing service. The company states that by consolidating multiple model calls into a single USDC settlement, it can save over $20,000 per month in network fees and reduce latency by approximately 10x; its service provides access to over 113 AI models through a single endpoint.Solana development organization Anza stated that the upgrade to ultimately reduce Solana's block time to 200 milliseconds is expected to go live around 15:00 UTC on October 9, having previously been gradually reduced from 400 milliseconds to 350, 300, and 250 milliseconds. Block Integrates Bitcoin Lightning Network into x402 Payment Standard
Odaily News: Payment company Block announced on September 24 that it has integrated the Bitcoin Lightning Network into the x402 payment standard. The x402 protocol can complete verification and unlock data through Lightning Network invoices and payment preimages after a server returns an HTTP 402 payment request.Steve Lee, head of Spiral, Block's open-source Bitcoin research and development division, stated that the integration targets instant, low-cost micropayment use cases. Block has not yet disclosed a timeline for bringing the standard to Cash App, Square, or Bitkey, and the related Python implementation still needs to be tested on real nodes. (Bitcoin.com News)
Block Joins x402 Foundation, Bringing Bitcoin Lightning Network to AI Agent Payments
Odaily reports that Bitcoin News posted on X that Block has joined the x402 Foundation and is providing Bitcoin Lightning Network support for x402, an open payment standard for AI agents. x402 embeds payments directly into HTTP, enabling AI agents to autonomously pay for goods, services, and other agent tools. Block stated that the Lightning Network is well-suited for the billions of instant, low-cost micropayments expected to be generated by the agent economy.
Supports Bitcoin Lightning Network, x402 incorporates Lightning Network payment specification
Odaily reports that Bitcoin News posted on X platform that the x402 Foundation has incorporated the Lightning Network payment specification into its open internet payment standards. x402 was initially developed by Coinbase, aiming to enable AI agents and applications to automatically complete payments and continue executing tasks upon receiving a "402 Payment Required" response, without needing to create accounts, enter credit card information, or manage API subscriptions. The protocol is now governed by the Linux Foundation, with participation from companies such as Cloudflare, Google, AWS, Visa, Mastercard, Stripe, and American Express. With the integration of the Lightning Network, AI agents can use satoshis to pay for API calls, data, computing power, MCP tools, and other digital resources, and cryptographically prove payment through Lightning Network preimages.
Cardano joins x402 software suite, enabling AI agent on-chain payments
Odaily News: Cardano developers can build applications and AI agents that support payments in ADA and Cardano network tokens based on this suite, enabling AI agents to complete on-chain payments for services such as online data and computing resources. Cardano Foundation engineers have completed the relevant specifications and developed the client, server, and Facilitator responsible for verifying and submitting transactions; the first version supports TypeScript, with a Python version planned for release later.Currently, the Facilitator has only completed actual transaction testing on the Cardano pre-production network and is not yet running on the mainnet.
Circle's public chain Arc launches agentic payments, providing a managed integration path for x402
According to an official announcement from Arc, Circle's public chain, agentic payments are now live. Its Facilitator Service provides a managed integration path for x402 developers, accepts USDC, and supports on-chain settlement on Arc, Base, and Polygon; this path requires no Relayer keys or separate Gas fee wallets.
Circle Co-founder: x402 Facilitator service is now live on Arc
Odaily reports that Circle co-founder and CEO Jeremy Allaire posted on X that the Circle x402 Facilitator service is now live on Arc. The service supports USDC settlement on Arc, Base, and Polygon PoS through EIP-3009. In addition, with the launch of Arc, market demand for cirBTC is growing. Currently, Circle Mint customers can directly mint and redeem cirBTC natively within the app. Each cirBTC is backed 1:1 by native BTC and can be redeemed for native BTC at a 1:1 ratio.
创历史新高,x402协议日交易笔数达210万笔
Odaily News: Among these, Payai handled 1.3 million transactions, while Figment processed 687,000; the total transfer volume for x402 transactions that day was approximately $28,900, with an average fee of just $0.0138 per transaction.
x402 has processed over 205 million transactions with a volume of $53 million, Coinbase unveils AiFi financial system
Odaily News, Coinbase stated on the X platform that the financial layer emerging around AI agents is called agentic finance, namely AiFi, covering agent transactions and agent commerce. AI agents can research information, make decisions, and execute actions on behalf of individuals and businesses, while also needing to perform fundamental financial activities such as making payments, receiving funds, storing value, and transferring money. Coinbase stated that it is building tools for AI agents to enable them to continuously execute financial operations within preset goals, permissions, limits, and security boundaries.Coinbase stated that Coinbase Advisor, Coinbase for Agents, x402, and Coinbase Business have formed the AiFi infrastructure. Coinbase Advisor is an SEC-registered investment advisor integrated into the app for Coinbase One users, providing portfolio analysis and guidance through a chat interface. Coinbase for Agents connects tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor to Coinbase accounts via MCP, allowing users to set operating conditions and security boundaries for agents, as well as create separate sandbox accounts for agent use.Coinbase stated that x402 is an open payment standard initiated by Coinbase and now managed by an independent foundation, supporting AI agents in paying fees to other agents, applications, and services. To date, x402 has processed over 205 million transactions with a volume of $53 million, covering 200,000 sellers, with Coinbase facilitating 67% of this activity. Individual payments can be used for API calls, datasets, research materials, or computing resources.Coinbase stated that Coinbase Business supports enterprises in natively receiving USDC payments from AI agents, while Coinbiz helps merchants sell services and content to software without relying on card credentials, manual invoicing, or payment processes designed around human customers. Eligible businesses can earn a floating 3.35% reward on idle USDC balances. USDC currently accounts for 99% of on-chain agent commerce transactions, x402 accounts for 97% of agent finance protocol usage, and the related activities run on Base.
Coinbase team integrates x402 into Slack, enabling agents to automatically purchase micro-payment services and return answers
Odaily News: Brian Armstrong posted on X platform, stating that his team, together with x402 and @CoinbaseDev, has built a feature in Slack: users can ask questions to agents in Slack; if a complete answer requires paid services, the agent will directly purchase the service. This supports micro-payments only, not subscriptions, and the answer will be returned in the same message. This way, everyone can get better and faster information without having to submit budget requests, fill out expense reports, or wait days for approval of expenses worth a few dollars.
