ENS Proposal to Enable ENSv2, New .eth Registrations to Pause for Several Hours During Transition
Odaily reports that Nick Johnson, founder of the Ethereum Name Service protocol ENS, has submitted an executable draft proposal requesting that the decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) approve the activation of ENSv2 on the Ethereum mainnet. Once the upgrade is approved, the original ENS registrar will pause new domain registrations, while existing domain holders will still be able to renew.ENSv2 will introduce a more flexible domain management and permissions architecture. After domain record synchronization is complete, new .eth registrations will migrate to the upgraded system, and new registrations on both systems may be paused for several hours during the transition; existing holders will not need to migrate, and their domains will remain fully functional. ENS Labs plans to transfer the remaining administrative permissions of the upgraded contracts to the DAO.The proposal is currently still in draft stage and needs to enter the on-chain DAO voting process. According to governance rules, an executable proposal must secure at least 1 million ENS tokens participating and a majority of support within a 7-day voting period. After approval, it must also undergo a timelock of at least two days. The voting date has not yet been announced. (Cointelegraph)
Three crypto service providers including TokenSpot sanctioned by the UK over $950M in fund transfers
Odaily: The United Kingdom has imposed sanctions on Cryptomus, Heleket, and TokenSpot as part of actions targeting Russia-related entities suspected of sanctions evasion. TokenSpot transferred over $950 million to sanctioned exchanges Grinex, Garantex, and the Kremlin-backed A7 network.
No bidding required, ENS applies for .ens generic top-level domain and is the sole applicant
Odaily reports that ENS has stated it has officially applied to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) for the .ens generic top-level domain. ICANN has announced a new round of generic top-level domain (gTLD) applications, and .ens has only one applicant, ENS, with no competing applications and no auction required.
Vitalik: AI Will Become the New User Interface, Directly Executing Complex Onchain Operations May Become the Norm
Odaily reports that Vitalik Buterin stated that AI is demonstrating the ability to break out of sandboxes, attack websites, discover software vulnerabilities, as well as help discover vulnerabilities in the Ethereum protocol, implement complex cryptography, and conduct formal verification. About a month ago, he updated his ENS information for the first time without using a user interface, simply asking a local AI agent to write a script, and the operation was completed in about 5 minutes. He expects that AI directly executing complex onchain operations will gradually become the norm and become the new user interface in more scenarios. Vitalik Buterin also stated that the Safe-related hack caused approximately $1.4 billion in losses, with the attack targeting the interaction layer between users and onchain systems, rather than onchain contracts. AI directly handling transactions may reduce the risks brought by web interfaces, but it will also introduce new challenges such as AI security, prompt injection, and the accuracy of operational understanding.
Benson Sun: Bitcoin's $83,000–$84,000 Range Previously Absorbed Approximately 1,400 BTC in Market Sell Orders, with Clear Buy-Side Absorption
According to monitoring by Benson Sun, founder of Coinkarma, at around 23:00 on October 1, U.S. stocks and gold weakened simultaneously, but the Binance BTC/USDT spot market saw consecutive market buy orders of approximately 400 BTC, supporting the price above $84,000, with the final candle closing as a doji.At around 1:30 on October 3, the market briefly saw approximately 1,400 BTC in market sell orders within the same price range, causing the price to dip and form a relatively long lower wick, before ultimately holding that zone. At the time, sell orders of approximately 100 BTC appeared every few seconds, but each time the price dipped, it was pulled back by buy orders. This zone highly overlaps with the $83,000–$84,000 range where on-chain holdings have recently accumulated rapidly, and buying reactions became relatively pronounced after BTC entered this range.
ens.eth sold another 1,097 ETH, worth $3 million
According to Lookonchain monitoring, ens.eth (@ensdomains) sold another 1,097 ETH 4 hours ago, worth $3 million, at a price of $2,743.

Coinkarma Founder Benson Sun: Liquidation Heatmaps Are Overrated in Usefulness
Odaily reports that Coinkarma founder Benson Sun stated that the usefulness of liquidation heatmaps is overrated. The dense zones are derived from historical trade data and assumed leverage multiples, and do not represent that a corresponding number of positions are still waiting to be liquidated. He believes that position additions and reductions, margin top-ups, and changes in average cost will all cause liquidation ranges to shift, and the longer the time frame, the greater the error. Liquidation heatmaps are more suitable as auxiliary information for short-term market structure over the most recent 24 hours to 3 days, and should not occupy an overly large weight in a trading system.
OpenSea: Unaffected by Magic Eden Security Incident, Over 3,000 Stolen NFTs Flagged and Banned from Sale
Odaily reports that OpenSea Chief Technology Officer Chris Maddern posted on X platform stating that OpenSea was not affected by the Magic Eden and Limit Break security incident. Its systems and smart contracts are functioning normally. The platform will display a warning banner to alert users and provide a link directing users to revoke authorization.Chris Maddern added that the currently known affected ERC-721 NFTs have been flagged on OpenSea and cannot be sold. For newly discovered exploited NFTs, OpenSea will also automatically flag them to restrict attackers from receiving related offers. As of now, over 3,000 NFTs have been flagged as stolen and banned from trading. OpenSea will continue to help mitigate the impact of this industry-wide security incident on users.
