Sui Foundation Invests $30 Million in DATA Network, AI Training Data Protocol to Migrate to Sui
Odaily News: The Sui Foundation has announced a $30 million investment in DATA Network. As part of the strategic partnership, DATA Network will join the Sui tech stack and integrate with on-chain data storage platform Walrus. The Sui Foundation will become the largest institutional holder of DATA Network, alongside existing stakeholders PIP Labs and DATA Foundation. DATA Network will upgrade to a protocol running natively on Sui, its standalone chain will be retired, and existing DATA tokens will migrate to Sui at a 1:1 ratio. The original network will continue to operate until the transition is complete, and the Sui Foundation will release a detailed timeline ahead of the upgrade. Walrus will become the default storage layer for applications operated by DATA Foundation. DATA Foundation pivoted from general intellectual property infrastructure to AI training data in June of this year. Its Trace product, launched in June, is used to track the provenance and usage rights of AI training data and settle payments to data contributors. The Trace registry has recorded over 250 million contributions since launch and currently processes more than 3 million receipts per day. The co-founder and Chief Product Officer of Mysten Labs stated that the AI industry has entered a phase where open internet content has been fully read, and the next frontier is accessing consented datasets with the provenance proofs required for regulatory compliance. After DATA Network and Trace migrate to the Sui tech stack, they will provide large volumes of high-quality, rights-clear data that already serves leading AI labs globally.
XRP Ledger Foundation: Confirms No New XRP Created, Critical Vulnerability Fixed
Odaily News: The XRP Ledger Foundation posted on the X platform to clarify the recent XRP Ledger security vulnerability incident, stating that the vulnerability could potentially have been used to bypass the limit that fixes XRP's total supply at 100 billion, but it was fixed two weeks ago via version 3.4.1. Furthermore, upon verification, no new XRP was found to have been created, and the total amount of XRP currently circulating on the ledger is approximately 99.986 billion. The Foundation stated that the vulnerability would have required hundreds of deliberately constructed operations to trigger, and normal payment transactions would almost never involve it. In the future, it will strengthen formal verification, AI adversarial testing, security research collaboration, and bug bounty programs with RippleX and the community. Regarding the fix process, the Foundation explained that publicly releasing a patch could allow attackers to use AI to accelerate vulnerability analysis. To address this situation, the XRPL community engaged in coordination. Participating parties including the XRP Ledger Foundation, RippleX, core developers, and validators reached a social consensus and agreed to adopt the approach of directly releasing the fix. In addition, version 3.4.1 only became a version the network was required to adopt after going through the normal amendment voting process and receiving support from more than 80% of validators for two consecutive weeks. Protocol changes still need to be completed through the amendment mechanism.Previously, RippleX engineering lead J. Ayo Akinyele also posted on the X platform, stating that he attaches great importance to the recently disclosed critical vulnerability in the XRP Ledger (XRPL) payment engine. This vulnerability is a serious security issue that has existed in the codebase for more than 10 years and could theoretically lead to the over-creation of XRP, breaking through the fixed supply cap. However, before the vulnerability could be exploited, it was discovered by the security research firm Veria AI through Ripple's bug bounty program.

Controlled by Foundation alone changed to a 9-party community multisig, Compound proposal retains EPCF purpose
Odaily reports that community member ugurmersin has proposed an alternative to Proposal 613, suggesting that custody of the Ecosystem Protection and Continuity Fund (EPCF) and mainnet Chainlink SVR revenue be transferred from the Safe controlled by the Compound Foundation to a Community Multisig, adopting a 9-party 5/9 multisig mechanism. The proposal does not advocate shutting down the EPCF, but rather preserving its purpose, size, 48-month term, and emergency fund deployment capability. As of October 8, the EPCF held 500,000 USDC and 4.5834 million USDC deposited in cUSDCv3, while mainnet Chainlink SVR revenue held 355.95 ETH. The proposal states that the original Proposal 613 had planned to shut down the EPCF and transfer the funds to the Governor Timelock, and was canceled by the Proposal Guardian on October 7.

Ethereum Foundation and Open Anonymity Project Launch zkAPI on Mainnet
Odaily News: On October 1, the Ethereum Foundation and Open Anonymity Project launched zkAPI on the Ethereum mainnet. The system allows users to pre-deposit ETH, USDC, and other balances, separating billing identity from requests when paying for AI and other usage-based services. After depositing funds, users can authorize payments via zero-knowledge proofs and one-time API keys. Once the server verifies the payment proof, it generates a short-term key with a preset spending cap. AI service providers can receive prompts but will not learn the corresponding payment identity.zkAPI does not hide prompt content, and AI service providers can still read prompts and responses; stable IP addresses, timing patterns, and repetitive behavior may also link user identities. The project's code repository labels zkAPI as an experimental project. (Bitcoin.com News)
Aave Labs Proposes Establishing Aave Foundation to Hold Aave Trademark and Related Intellectual Property
Odaily News: Aave Labs has submitted an ARFC proposal to establish a memberless foundation, Aave Foundation, in the Cayman Islands, which would hold the trademark and related intellectual property of the lending protocol under the supervision of Aave DAO. The proposal only involves the foundation's registration and the appointment of independent directors, supervisors, and a secretary. The DAO will bear reasonable registration, legal, and setup costs, with no ongoing budget. Aave Labs and DAO service providers may not appoint or serve as directors or supervisors; governance authorities such as protocol listing, parameter adjustments, budgeting, and service provider selection remain with the DAO. Subsequent transfers of trademarks, domain names, and code intellectual property will be submitted separately for governance review, and the foundation will disclose its held assets, operating expenditures, and related legal actions on a quarterly basis.
