The number of applicants for this Hackathon exceeded 3,000, and developers from all over the world submitted more than 100 projects!

In order to speed up the ecological development, the Solana Foundation has recently cooperated with Serum (Serum is the flagship project in the Solana ecosystem) to co-host the online DeFi hackathon (https://solana.com/defi). This hackathon brought together cryptocurrency pioneers and popular DeFi protocol developers from around the world, and conducted two weeks of development around Solana and Serum.
There were more than 3,000 applicants for this competition, and they submitted more than 100 projects, covering areas such as decentralized trading protocols, DeFi tools, lending protocols, etc.
You can view all entries by clicking the link (https://airtable.com/shrQvOZRiXN0YfO5U/tblnrOhKW8m8WF9d3).
In addition to promoting the cooperation between the Solana Foundation and talented teams from all over the world, this hackathon also allows Solana to learn about and improve existing development documents, development tools, and educational resources through this competition, which will allow Solana to better serve Developers provide services. In addition, the hackathon judges were also impressed by the diversity and quality of the participating DeFi protocols.
The hackathon is judged based on the following five criteria: functionality, potential impact on DeFi, innovation, design, and composability. In addition to encouraging the construction of DeFi protocols, developers can also create infrastructure or development tools that they think are beneficial to the ecology. The only requirement is that these development tools must be able to integrate with Solana and Serum.
Among them, we have selected 9 winning projects, but in fact there are more than 50 projects with great potential. Without further ado, we reveal the winners of the Solana x Serum DeFi Hackathon.

first prize winner

There are a total of 2 first prize winners, and they will each receive USDC-SPL tokens worth USD 50,000.

Mango Markets

Mango Markets (https://mango.markets/) is a decentralized platform that provides cross-margin trading; it can provide up to 5 times leveraged trading, and integrates with Serum DEX's order book to provide pending orders. Makers and takers can earn interest when depositing funds to the platform or opening leveraged transactions; since Solana is a high-performance blockchain, users can also trade with near-zero block fees. In addition, users can also mortgage SRM to the shared pool to reduce the handling fees of all traders. Congratulations to Team Mango!

second prize winner

There are a total of 3 second prize winners, and they each receive USDC-SPL tokens worth $20,000.

Parrot

Parrot is a synthetic debt protocol that can bridge existing yield tokens on Ethereum Layer 1 to Solana's DeFi ecosystem. Holders of liquidity-providing tokens (LP tokens) of protocols such as SushiSwap and Curve can directly use LP tokens as collateral to lend assets on the Solana chain.

DTF agreement

Solana-based DTF protocol allows users to create their own asset management strategies, and others can invest in this strategy. The execution logic is to mortgage a basket of SPL tokens in the DTF program and generate another SPL token. Through external integration with exchanges, lending platforms, automatic market makers, and asset agreements, DTF supports any type of strategy, including those that have been generated.

Sushi Warrior

Sushi Warrior is a multiplayer championship battle game, which also includes a lottery game similar to PoolTogether, and uses Solana, Arweave, Torus, USDC, AAVE tokens to bring the combinable DeFi ecology into the game world.

Tenderize Me

Tenderize Me is a liquidity staking solution where users can generate tenderSol tokens, a derivative token that earns staking value, allowing users to start or end staking with no lock-up period. The main focus of Tenderize Me is making staking more efficient, especially for non-technical Solana community members. Having a tenderSol token representing a staking position allows users to reuse staking funds and increase capital efficiency. For example, use it as collateral for other protocols.

community award

After all hackathon projects are submitted, the Solana community can vote for their favorite projects. The "Community Choice Award" (Community Choice Award) has a bonus amount of $5,000 in SPL version USDC. Votes totaled over 10,000 votes, with one project narrowly winning.

COPE

COPE allows traders to vote on the performance of other traders, rank them, and view other traders' COPE scores (index) to judge their performance. And this ranking can be a trading signal for traders. The second phase of the COPE protocol is automated investment products. Users can follow a single transaction based on the COPE index. In addition, COPE's real-time performance can be integrated with Serum DEX, allowing traders to deploy trading strategies on the central order book and run smart contracts on Solana.

Now, the top nine teams will have the opportunity to compete for an additional $200,000 in seed funding, giving serious development teams the opportunity to develop full-time in the Solana ecosystem with input from the Solana Foundation, Project Serum, and industry-leading venture capitalists. The investment company has obtained a lot of resources, please continue to pay attention to the relevant updates of the seed round investment on Twitter.
Congratulations again to all the developers and winners! We would also like to thank the all-star judges and speakers who participated in live panel discussions throughout the hackathon. If you are interested in continuing to develop on Solana, our foundation continues to find talented teams and provide funding through the Grants program.
