Report: U.S.-Iran Talks May See Breakthrough, Iran Willing to Discuss Nuclear Issue
Odaily reports: According to Bloomberg, a diplomat familiar with the negotiations revealed that the United States and Iran are gradually approaching a potential breakthrough to end the war, with Tehran showing willingness to discuss nuclear program-related issues that it had previously been unwilling to address.
The diplomat said Iran is examining a proposal put forward by key mediator Qatar concerning its nuclear activities. If Iran makes concessions on this issue, it could drive significant progress in the negotiations. The talks have been stalled since the temporary peace agreement reached by both sides in June collapsed. U.S. President Trump recently held phone calls with Qatari leaders to discuss efforts to ease regional tensions, signaling that Trump hopes to end the war—a war that has also been one of the key backdrops in this week's U.S. midterm elections where Democrats defeated Republicans.
