Since 2023, Bitcoin long-term holders have remained consistently profitable, with their current unrealized profit buffer reaching 72%
Odaily reports, according to monitoring data from Axel Adler Jr, the average cost basis for Bitcoin long-term holders is $48,600, and the current Bitcoin price is approximately 72% above their cost. This group has been in profit continuously since January 2023, with the most recent approach to the cost line occurring in March 2023.
The average cost basis for Bitcoin long-term holders peaked at $49,500 on July 30 and has since declined by 1.7%. Since August 1, 60 out of 74 days have seen negative weekly changes, with the largest single-week decline of 0.34% on August 25, and the current reading is -0.06%. Axel Adler Jr stated that this decline remains moderate; if it continues to drop further, it would indicate accelerated selling, while a return to positive territory would mean long-term holders are re-accumulating.
