Russian and US Presidents Hold Phone Call: Putin Says Russia Currently Cannot Resume Negotiations with Ukraine
Odaily News: Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov briefed on the phone call between the Russian and US leaders in the early hours of the 10th local time. Ushakov stated that during the call, Putin provided a detailed account of the measures Russia has taken in response to terrorist attacks carried out by the Ukrainian armed forces. Putin said that Ukraine's attempts to disrupt Russia's State Duma elections and carry out attacks on the civilian population have undermined the possibility of immediately resuming negotiations. Putin also noted that Ukraine's attempts to halt the advance of Russian forces have no prospect of success, and that the Russian military currently holds full initiative on the battlefield and is continuing to advance. Putin emphasized that due to Ukraine's position, particularly its attempts to disrupt the Russian State Duma elections, it is currently impossible to resume negotiations with Ukraine. Trump has instructed that the information conveyed by Putin during the call be passed on to the Ukrainian delegation. Ushakov said that regarding a bilateral meeting between Putin and Trump, the two sides have not yet held specific discussions. (CCTV News)
