Agency: Using the Bureau of Labor Statistics as a scapegoat will undermine the credibility of US economic data
2 hours ago

Ipek Ozkardeskaya, senior analyst at Swissquote Bank, said that if US non-farm payrolls fall below 50,000 for six consecutive months, it would be considered a recession signal. Therefore, the US may already be halfway there. The good news is that recession fears have reinforced expectations of a Federal Reserve rate cut; the bad news is that a weak economy was not part of Trump's promise. A rate cut won't magically save the market, and blaming the Bureau of Labor Statistics for the consequences of the government's chaotic policies could undermine the credibility of US economic data.
