According to Odaily Planet Daily, Canadian cybercriminal Cameron Albert Redman has been sentenced to one year in prison for committing a social media account hijacking scam. Throughout 2022, Redman and his accomplices hacked into digital artist X's account, posted fake raffle links, and tricked users into authorizing transactions. Victims unknowingly granted the attackers access to their crypto wallets, resulting in the theft of their NFTs and cryptocurrencies. According to the US Department of Justice, the scam cost over 200 victims over a period of several days, generating $794,000 in illegal profits. (Decrypt)
