Odaily News Ethereum’s Pectra upgrade was successfully activated on the Sepolia testnet on March 5, 2025, marking the final stage of the upgrade before the mainnet launch. The upgrade aims to improve Ethereum’s scalability, security, and usability. Key improvements include:
Crypto wallet user experience and account abstraction (EIP-7702): Improve user experience and enhance account management flexibility.
Increase the validator staking limit (EIP-7251): Increase the validator staking limit from 32 ETH to 2,048 ETH to enhance network security.
Rollup scalability enhancement (EIP-7691): Improve the scalability of rollups by increasing the maximum number of blobs.
The upgrade will further support Ethereum’s Dencun hard fork in March 2024, and the mainnet activation date is scheduled to be determined at the All Core Developers meeting on March 6, 2025. The mainnet launch is expected to take place in early April 2025. (TheBlock)
