Odaily News According to Arkham Research data, the U.S. government has sold ANT tokens seized from Alameda Research, the first transfer of funds from the wallet in nearly two years, with about $974,000 worth of cryptocurrency in the wallet. On-chain data shows that government officials used the AragonDAO ANT token redemption address to sell more than 82,000 seized ANTs. ANT is Aragon's governance token. In November 2023, the Swiss nonprofit Aragon Association voted to dissolve and sell 86,343 ETH (worth $155 million at the time) in exchange for ANT. Users must redeem ANT by November 2, 2024. After redemption, all ANTs will be destroyed because "from this moment on, there is no point in continuing to hold ANT." So far, the U.S. government has received 209.199 ETH worth $556,000 from AragonDAO. Prior to the latest transaction, the US government address received 0.003 ETH ($7.03) from Coinbase, likely used to pay gas fees. (The Block)
