(CNBC) Earlier in December 2022, it was reported that the East African Bitcoin mining company Gridless completed a $2 million seed investment, led by Bitcoin venture capital firm Stillmark and Jack Dorsey's payment company Block. It is reported that Gridless designs, builds and operates Bitcoin mining sites and small renewable energy producers in rural areas of Africa. Gridless acts as a major tenant, providing funding for the construction and management operations of data centers in these rural communities that do not have access to traditional industrial or commercial customers.
