Delphi Labs General Counsel: DeFi should not be made to “comply” with the mandatory intermediary system

Odaily News In response to the recent CFTC charges against Opyn, ZeroEx and Deridex, Delphi Labs general counsel Gabriel Shapiro posted on the X platform that DeFi has actually become illegal in the United States since the CFTC’s case against OokiDAO. However, the purpose of DeFi is to disintermediate, and there is no way to make DeFi comply with the mandatory intermediary system. In addition, Shapiro also warned that blockchain browsers like Etherscan may become the next target of regulations related to “DeFi interfaces”.
