Odaily News - Matt Doty, Co-founder and CSO of Golden Gate (GGX), stated during the "RockTree OG Talk Series" online livestream on the 22nd that cost issues will determine the long-term competitiveness of Zk, and GGX can reduce gas fees by over a thousand times. In the future, there may be a need for standardization in the Zk space, but it is still a ways off from maturity.
Before joining GGX, Matt co-developed and released Ethereum's mining algorithm with Vitalik Buterin in 2015, and he was also responsible for pricing gas fees on the Ethereum network. Matt believes that cost is a major technical challenge in Zk's innovation journey and will determine its long-term competitiveness. For example, the cost of Zk-related verifications is currently 10 to 20 times higher than traditional USDC and NFT verifications.
In practice, GGX helps developers and computational workers verify offline computing power online. By integrating multiple verification methods, gas fees can be reduced by over a thousand times. Currently, Zk is undergoing various types of innovation, and there may be a future need for standardization in the industry, but it may still be some distance away from the establishment of mature standards.
The "RockTree OG Talk Series" online livestream is jointly organized by Web3.0 top investment fund RockTree Capital and Odaily. This episode invites industry guests such as Golden Gate (GGX), ZKEX, zkLink, etc., to discuss the "technical applications and prospects of Zk," providing you with the most in-depth OG insights and information from top companies in the field.
